Welcome

Dear friends,

Welcome to the website of the Cascais 2024 ANOC General Assembly – home to all the information you will need for a successful visit to Cascais on 29 October – 1 November 2024.

We are grateful to our partners in Cascais and the Portuguese Olympic Committee for their collaboration and support in preparing for this year’s event.

With excellent meeting facilities, fantastic accommodation and stunning natural scenery, we have no doubt that Cascais will make the perfect setting for productive meetings and constructive interactions.

We welcome all delegates to take full advantage of their time in Cascais and the unparalleled opportunities that the ANOC General Assembly provides.

The ANOC General Assembly is unique in its size and global reach. Outside of the Olympic Games, there is no other gathering which brings the world together in the same way.

In Cascais we will welcome the world’s National Olympic Committees, connecting them with each other and with representatives from the IOC, International Federations, Olympic Games Organising Committees and other Olympic stakeholders. This gathering of the Olympic Movement in one location provides huge opportunities for interaction and exchange, allowing us to become stronger together.

We encourage all NOCs in attendance to use this occasion to share their thoughts, ideas and experiences so that we at ANOC can provide the very best, targeted support.

ANOC is committed to making sure that the General Assembly is as interactive as possible and will this year once again host the ANOC Theme Sessions to facilitate the sharing of best practice between NOCs.

We will also see the return of the ANOC Awards where we will celebrate the NOCs and athlete performances from this year’s Olympic Games Paris 2024.

There is a huge amount to look forward to and we are excited to welcome you to Cascais in October.

We hope you will find everything you need on this website but if you have any further questions please contact:  info@anocolympic.org

Welcome to Portugal!

It is with immense pleasure that we welcome the Olympic Family to Cascais and to Portugal for this important initiative for the Olympic Movement. This will be the largest sportive event Portugal has ever hosted and on behalf of the NOC Portugal, I want to thank ANOC for their trust in our competence to cooperate in the organization of this event. We hope you feel at home and warmly welcomed during your stay, and that the work from these days are both institutionally and sportively relevant to each one of you.

We are delighted to welcome you to the digital home of the Cascais 2024 ANOC General Assembly! We cannot wait to welcome you in person to Cascais later this year for what we are sure will be an excellent event. We thank NOC Portugal for their partnership and collaboration in preparing for the event. With excellent meeting facilities, fantastic accommodation and stunning natural scenery, we have no doubt that Cascais will make the perfect setting for productive and engaging meetings.

It is with great satisfaction that the Municipality of Cascais is hosting, for three days, the XXVIII General Assembly of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC), one of the main organisations promoting Olympic Values around the world, at the Estoril Congress Centre.

The magnitude of this event, with the participation of all the National Olympic Committees from the different continents, puts Cascais on the world Olympic map. This town, with a strong sporting tradition and a strong focus on tourist attractions, is thus reaffirmed in its identity.

I am confident that this will be another opportunity to promote the Olympic spirit, which calls us to peace between peoples and to value difference. May this meeting contribute to breaking down the barriers of inequality present in our society.

Welcome to Cascais!
